Scientific practice¶

HERMES is a numerical framework, so software reproducibility and scientific validity are related but distinct:

• tests establish that the implementation behaves as expected;
• convergence studies establish that numerical choices are adequate;
• model references establish the assumptions and validity range;
• complete provenance lets another researcher repeat the calculation.

Use the following pages as a minimum publication checklist, not as a substitute for analysis-specific validation.
