Dark matter

Dark-matter emission combines a particle-yield spectrum, a Galactic density profile, and an annihilation or decay normalization.

Spectra

  • PPPC4DMIDSpectrum(channel, mass) provides tabulated prompt yields at its enumerated masses.
  • HDMSpectraSpectrum(channel, rest_mass_energy, product) covers high-mass gamma, neutrino, proton, and neutron products.

Both use versioned runtime tables. Record the channel, mass, product, and table family.

Galactic profile

NFWGProfile(gamma, concentration, M200) provides a generalized NFW profile and exposes its scale radius, virial radius, scale density, and local density. Record every constructor parameter; a label such as “NFW” is insufficient to reproduce a map.

Processes and normalization

DarkMatterIntegrator supports DarkMatterProcess.annihilation and DarkMatterProcess.decay. The constructors accept the appropriate annihilation cross section or lifetime, together with a symmetry factor where needed. Gamma-ray absorption is optional and queryable.

The maintained command-line implementation is 06_dark_matter_map.py. Inspect its defaults rather than treating them as universal physical choices.
